Client testimonials, built for the SEC Marketing Rule
People choosing an advisor want to hear from your clients. Collect testimonials on your free Advicer.bio page with one link: the disclosures the rule asks for are built in, nothing shows until you and your compliance team approve it, and star ratings show in Find an advisor.
Claim your page
Your page is probably already on Advicer.bio, built from your SEC record. Find and claim it, free.
Turn testimonials on
In your page editor, open Client testimonials, tick Take testimonials on your page and save. They're off until you do.
Send your link
You get one link, advicer.bio/testimonial/yourname. Send it to clients one at a time, or copy the ready-made email to all of them. Asking everyone, not just your happiest clients, keeps them fair and balanced, which the rule cares about.
Clients write it, and answer the disclosure questions
They write in their own words, can add a star rating, and say whether they're a client, whether they were paid anything and any conflicts. Then they confirm their email, so you know it's really them.
You review it with compliance
New testimonials wait for you. Check the disclosures, confirm your firm's compliance approved it, and publish. Or decline it. You can't change their words.
It shows on your page, and in Find an advisor
Published testimonials appear on your page with their disclosures. Star ratings show next to your name in Find an advisor lists and matches. Download your records any time for your books.
What a client sees when you ask
The full email, with your link filled in, is ready to copy in your page editor.
Questions
Yes. Testimonials are part of every claimed page, at no cost, and Advicer.bio never pays anyone for a testimonial.
You can publish or decline each one, and remove one later. You can't edit the words. That's what makes them believable, and what the rule expects.
Testimonials have been allowed since the rule took effect in 2022, with disclosures: whether the person is a client, whether they were compensated, and any material conflicts, plus your firm's oversight. Advicer.bio asks the writer for each and shows them with the testimonial. It isn't legal or compliance advice: your firm decides.
FINRA's rules apply too, so check with your broker-dealer before you turn testimonials on.
Yes. Add your Google review link under Client testimonials and everyone who sends one is asked to review you on Google too, whatever they wrote.
No. Only the name they choose to show (e.g. "Pat T.") and what they wrote. Emails are used to confirm it's them and are kept with your records.
